Cape Agulhas
- The southern-most point of Africa
Where is the southern-most tip of Africa? Most of the Europeans would say: Cape of Good Hope. But that's wrong. The southern-most tip of Africa is located about 150 km to the east: Cape Agulhas.
What is interesting here? Actually nothing else then a small monument with a small plate. Here is the dividing line between the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian Ocean.
You have a nice view towards the old lighthouse of Cape Agulhas. The cape itself goes very shallowly into the sea. There are a lot of nice beaches around, where the water is definitely warmer than in Cape Town. That's the good influence of the Indian Ocean.
If you are anyway close by or on the Garden Route towards Cape Town, then you could do a short diversion to come here. But to go to Cape Agulhas especially to see it, it is not worth the trip.
