Ajman

 

 

 

Ajman is the smallest Emirate of the UAE. It covers only 259 km2; this is just 0,33% of the entire UAE. 215.000 people are living here, mainly in Ajman City and in two small enclaves in the Hajar mountains. Otherwise Ajman is completely surrounded by Sharjah.

 

Fort, heute Ajman-MuseumAjman has no oil reserves and therefore had a different development than Abu Dhabi or Dubai. You can find a lot more industry here, e.g. the biggest and most famous ship yard for speed boats.

 

It is quite difficult to see the border between Sharjah and Ajman. Both cities merge nearly completely. Most of the residents work either in Sharjah or even in Dubai.
